My tip for individuals who can't downsize their lists is to find affordable gifts. Likewise, you could also come up with handmade holiday gifts. In case you are artistic enough, you could pull off some lovely homemade stuff for family and friends. Sadly, that does not appeal to me since I don't really have the knack, so I opt for affordable gifts instead.
Search around in the first few days of December. This really is effective for me since I don't want to jostle my way through thick crowd a week prior to Christmas. At the same time, costs of goods and commodities might go up as Christmas draws near.
